Jeroen van der Toolen, Managing Director Central & Eastern Europe, Ghelamco
Jeroen joined Ghelamco as Managing Director for Poland in 2003, presiding over three times growth in the Belgian developer’s business and securing its status as a leading and well recognized provider of modern business space within the region.
Since the company expanded its activities to the East European Countries, Jeroen van der Toolen has been involved in the co-creation of Ghelamco’s offices in Russia and Ukraine and in 2006 he was appointed Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe. Currently he is responsible for all of Ghelamco’s Central and Eastern European operations comprising a portfolio of over 600,000 sqm.
Ghelamco’s rapid growth has encouraged the company to realise more investments in Warsaw and regional markets. Ghelamco Poland has delivered over 400 000 sqm of high standard office and warehouse facilities and has over 160,000 sqm under construction in 2012. The company’s high capabilities have been widely recognized by the market, including the most prestigious tenants like: PKN Orlen, T-Mobile, Rabobank Polska, Cargill, Medicover, Hyundai Motor Poland, PTU, LEGG MASON, BRE Bank, Euronet, Discovery and Oriflame. Jeroen has also been responsible for the implementation of sustainable development solutions by the company. This resulted in establishing the most popular European ecological certificate BREEAM as a standard for all Ghelamco investments. He has also introduced a completely new brand, Ghelamco Residential, under which Ghelamco is undertaking residential projects. In 2012 Ghelamco Poland leased over 56Â 000 sqm, the best score in the Polish real estate market also a record result in the company’s history. In 2012 Ghelamco opened the first phase of it’s 240,000 sqm logistics park in Russia.
Jeroen graduated from the Vrije Univerisiteit Amsterdam where he finished his studies in the Business Economics. Before joining Ghelamco, he worked for the Unilever Moscow office and DTZ. In 1997 he did also a project for Rabobank in Ukraine. He is married and has two children. His hobbies include traveling, backpacking, sailing, snowboarding and discovering new cuisines.
